Dr. Thanes Vanig, an accomplished medical professional, founded Spectrum Medical in 1997. His educational background, including Magna Cum Laude honors from Mahidol University Medical School in Thailand, Internal Medicine residency at Harvard Medical School, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Infectious Diseases from Stanford University Medical School, has formed the basis of his expertise. Dr. Vanig is internationally renowned for his work in HIV medicine, actively contributing to the field through speaking engagements, publications, and advisory roles. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is deeply committed to community service, actively participating in initiatives such as the City of Phoenix Fast Track Cities Initiative and taking a leadership role within the Maricopa START (State of Arizona Rapid Treatment) Program. In this program, he authored the medical protocol to follow in Maricopa County for providing immediate support and guidance to newly diagnosed HIV patients, helping them access the care they need and fostering a sense of safety and well-being within the community.

Medical Director Dr. Rodriguez brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role at Spectrum Medical. He pursued his medical education at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and honed his expertise through a Family Medicine Residency at Riverside University Health System. During his residency, Dr. Rodriguez actively focused on HIV care, earning the AAHIVM specialist certification. In his prior position as the HIV Medical Director of a FQHC in Bakersfield, California, he demonstrated strong leadership in healthcare innovation. He spearheaded various programs, such as long-injectable treatment for HIV, rapid linkage to care for newly diagnosed HIV patients, and expanding PrEP services across the Central Valley of California. Dr. Rodriguez is on a mission to enhance HIV care and prevention, with a clear vision of benefiting the health and well-being of all Arizonans.

Isabel’s journey started with 12 years of dedicated service in social work. Later, in 2004, she achieved her Master’s degree in Physician Assistance from Pacific University. In 2017, Isabel marked a significant milestone by concluding her career at the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. With heartfelt involvement in the LGBTQ+ community spanning over three decades, Isabel is an AAHIVM Certified Specialist. She specializes in PrEP, PEP, and gender affirming care. Isabel’s extensive experience and unwavering commitment are evident, emphasizing her mission to provide a nurturing and inclusive space for all.

Judith earned her Master’s degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner after dedicating a decade to nursing in various specialized fields. With over two decades of experience as an AAHIVM-certified HIV specialist, Judy is committed to caring for individuals impacted by HIV and preventing new infections through PrEP and PEP. She considers it a privilege to accompany her patients on their path to health and well-being.

Kate’s determination to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives through healthcare led her back to college following years of work in the pharmaceutical industry. She completed her RN and gained valuable experience on a cardiac monitored floor while pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Family Practice at Arizona State University. Before joining Spectrum, Kate honed her skills in an Urgent Care setting, where she provided compassionate care in PrEP and PEP services. Kate’s unwavering commitment to HIV prevention has evolved into her healthcare passion. She specializes in PrEP, PEP, and general medicine, striving to ensure the well-being of those she cares for.

With over five years of RN experience, including ER, ICU, and neurology, Ethan brings a wealth of knowledge to Spectrum Medical. He specializes in PrEP, PEP, HIV, and general medicine, ensuring complete care for your health.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Ari is a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner who earned his Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University. He was inspired to pursue a nursing career after his own gender transition journey and completing his Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Before completing his NP, he worked as an RN in a Surgical/Trauma Progressive Care Unit in Columbus, Ohio. He is proud to hold an AAHIVM Specialist certification, specializing in gender-affirming care, PrEP, PEP, and general medicine.

Efficient scheduling, quicker than normal availability, a doctor that listened and gave clear advice/next steps. I look forward to a long and meaningful partnership with Spectrum.
