Jose Rodriguez-Garcia, MD, Medical Director, AAHIVS
Dr. Rodriguez is the new Medical Director at Spectrum Medical. He attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Riverside University Health System. He was actively involved in HIV care and obtained the AAHIVM specialist certification during residency. He previously was the HIV Medical Director of a FQHC in Bakersfield, California. He implemented numerous programs including long-injectable treatment for HIV, rapid linkage to care for newly diagnosed HIV patients and increasing PrEP services throughout the Central Valley of California. His goal is to improve HIV care and prevention for all Arizonans.
Thanes Vanig, CMO, MD, AAHIVS

Dr. Thanes Vanig opened his practice in 1998 after graduating Magna Cum Laude as a King’s Scholar from Mahidol University Medical School in Thailand, completing his Internal Medicine residency at Harvard Medical School, and receiving his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Infectious Diseases from Stanford University Medical School. Internationally recognized in HIV Medicine, he speaks, publishes, and advises regularly. Dr. Vanig serves on the City of Phoenix Fast Track Cities Initiative and is a leader for the Maricopa START (State of Arizona Rapid Treatment) Program, immediately linking newly diagnosed HIV patients to care.
M. Isabel Brady, PA-C, AAHIVS
After dedicating 12 years to social work, Isabel returned to school to become a Physician Assistant at Pacific University, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in 2004. In 2017, she retired from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. With more than 30 years of her life passionately involved in the LGBTQ community, Isabel is an AAHIVM Certified Specialist, specializing in PrEP, PEP, HRT, and transgender care.
Judith Bergman, FNP-C, AAHIVS
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
After ten years working as an RN in multiple specialties, Judy returned to college, where she received her Master’s degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner. For nearly 20 years, she has been an AAHIVM certified HIV specialist. Judy’s passion lies in treating individuals who have been affected by HIV and working to prevent new infections through PEP and PrEP. She feels privileged to be invited by her patients on their journey to health.
Kate Schaub, DNP, FNP-C
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
After years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Kate returned to college to study nursing. Upon completing her RN, she worked on a cardiac monitored floor while obtaining her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Family Practice from Arizona State University. Before joining Spectrum, Kate worked in an Urgent Care setting where she provided PrEP and PEP care. HIV prevention has become her passion in healthcare, and she specializes in PrEP, PEP, and general medicine.
Ethan Nguyen, NP-C
Certified Nurse Practitioner
Ethan is a Certified Nurse Practitioner at Spectrum Medical. He graduated with his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and continued his education with the nurse practitioner program at The University of Phoenix. He has over five years of RN experience ranging from ER to ICU and neurology. He specializes in PrEP, PEP, HIV, and general medicine.
Ari Kravitz, FNP-C, AAHIVS
Family Nurse Practitioner
Ari is a Family Nurse Practitioner who received his Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University. He was motivated to enter the nursing field after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Public Health by his own experiences with gender transition and community advocacy. Before completing his NP, he worked as an RN on a Surgical/Trauma Progressive Care Unit in Columbus, Ohio. He recently received his AAHIVM Specialist certification and specializes in gender affirming care, PrEP, PEP, and general medicine.
